About My Practice
I have been a psychotherapist in private practice for over 25 years. My work is informed by my experiences as school social worker, a member of the Chittenden County Child Protection Team, a facilitator of psycho-educational support groups for trauma survivors and as an educator. While affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine I co-founded The Women's Initiative in the Department of Psychiatry and taught inverviewing skills to medical students. While EMDR is a cornerstone in my practice, I use a number of other stress reduction techniques and traditional talk therapy that enable me to fit the work to individual needs.
My office is located on the ground floor and is handicapped accessible. The first appointment is considered an Information and Consultation Meeting for which there is no charge. Subsequent appointments are covered by most insurances, including Medicaid. A sliding fee scale is available.
I participate in Give An Hour, which provides no-pay appointments to military personnel & their families.
Home visits are available in Chittenden County.
What excites me about EMDR?
EMDR effectively treats chronic psychological stress due to PTSD, traumatic memories and chronic health issues. EMDR can be integrated into the comprehensive treatment of work related issues, relational concerns, and/or health problems that may complicate the healing process. According to clients treated with EMDR, it has helped them move from "coping" to "living."Degree |
